Talk to us about the Sports Bra. What’s your vision?

Our mission is to empower, support and promote girls and women in sports and the community. By creating and dedicating space for women’s sports and sports fans, we strive for representation, impact and the fight for equity in sport and beyond.

You took off five years; what did you do on your sabbatical that led you to making the decision to open the Sports Bra?

I really was just semi-retired! I did side hustles to make ends meet and was able to really pare down my lifestyle so I could work less. It wasn’t until the pandemic in 2020 that I really started to think about how my life and my work could create impact. For the first time, I felt like I needed to contribute to community and that desire led me to think about opening The Sports Bra.

Do you have one secret to your success?

First off, I don’t think there are any secrets to it. And success means different things to different people. For me, I feel like The Bra is the greatest thing I’ve ever done in my life and it’s because I feel like it has made an impact on others. The secret? Being authentic and true to yourself and learning to adapt the path but never the mission.

Who is a woman you admire?

As cliche as it may be, Mom is HER. She came to the US as a refugee from Vietnam during the war in her teens. She had me at a young age speaking very little English and apart from her family. She taught me resilience, hard work, pushing past fear and circumstance and approaching life with a huge smile and her heart on her sleeve. Witnessing her move through a difficult life and still showing up has been one of the most powerful influences in my life.

What’s one thing you can’t live without?

The great outdoors. Fresh air and a walk in the woods is the ultimate reset for me. I’d hate to imagine a world without it.

What is one big trend you’re excited about in 2025?

WOMEN’S SPORTS!!!
