We began as one of the earliest modern women’s conferences in an effort to bring together a wider array of voices around critical topics. We ultimately evolved into a community for leading women navigating big challenges, who found life got lonelier the higher they rose. These opinion leaders needed a third space outside their personal friendships and professional colleagues to connect with other leaders on a similar trajectory.
From our earliest days, The WIE Suite has attracted some of the most innovative and uncommon women leaders and global minds of our time as speakers and supporters, including Mellody Hobson, Arianna Huffington, Christy Turlington, Queen Rania, Melinda Gates, Thasunda Duckett, Diane von Furstenberg, Nancy Pelosi and Naomi Campbell.
Beginning in 2020, The WIE Suite emerged, expanding our capabilities and ambitions to bring even more women together across industries and cultures to create a community where action, growth, and solving problems in support of each other would help change the future of business for women for generations to come.
Named one of Marie Claire Magazine’s 50 Women Changing the World, Dee Poku founded The WIE Suite with the goal to create a community that redefines success and how women achieve and experience it—on their own terms and in support of each other. Having formerly held senior roles at Paramount Pictures and Focus Features, Dee pivoted to entrepreneurship when she realized there weren’t enough safe spaces and resources for women to accelerate their careers and learn from each other in a way that was constructive rather than competitive.
