The San Francisco event, held in Claire V.'s beautiful retail boutique, brought together sixty members and guests gathered to discuss a broad theme of authentic growth for founders. Led by CEO of Clare V. Clare Vivier, CEO of Vintner's Daughter April Gargiulo and CEO of the WIE Suite Dee Poku, the conversation covered a diverse range of themes from culture, to networks, to fundraising.
Among the pearls of wisdom, CEO April Gargiulo shared that “there’s that quote - “Culture eats strategy for breakfast." You can have the most amazing strategy in the world but if you don’t have the team that connects you through it then it’s really not going to work.”
Meanwhile, CEO Clare Vivier shared that, “A community of women is really how I was able to grow intentionally. When I started this company I started it with a blog and telling my story. That was my only means of marketing. And the way I created a community around that was creating friendships with other bloggers and talking about each other. And it just caught on like wildfire."
And, April reiterated that point: “one thing I never knew I needed was a community of women founders and women in business. Before beauty, I had never worked in an industry that wasn’t mostly men. So I just didn’t have that reference point. And when I got to beauty I was like, “Wow, we can go so much faster when it’s all women!”
